The historic PSNY SoHo Atelier (2005-2011)

Our History

From a moment of discovery in Azerbaijan to the artistic lofts of SoHo, New York. PsLing is a journey of precision, passion, and the silent dialogue between parent and child.

1996: A Moment of Discovery in Azerbaijan

A Discovery in Azerbaijan. The story began in 1996. While visiting a maternity ward in Azerbaijan, our founder, Yasukazu Konno, witnessed a mother soothing her newborn with a simple piece of cloth. It wasn’t just a tool; it was a way to integrate mother and baby—becoming 'as one.'

Crafting the First PsLing

Recalling the “Kangaroo Care” taught by the WHO, Konno sought to bring this closeness home. Frustrated by bulky carriers with heavy padding, he and his wife, Chizuko, created a prototype that felt like a natural extension of clothing. In January 2001, PsLing was officially launched in Tokyo.

2005–2011: The SoHo Era

Refining the Aesthetic. In 2005, following success in Japan, PSNY (PsLing New York) was born. We believed a sling should exist not only for function but as an elegant accessory. The artistic spirit of New York’s SoHo became the catalyst for refining our aesthetic grace.

The Creative Pulse

Our SoHo atelier was a sanctuary of style and craftsmanship. Though the physical store closed in 2011, the global perspective and dedication to “Made by Hands” that we cultivated there remain the foundation of every sling we weave today.

2012–Present: A Global Legacy

Beyond Function. PsLing has evolved into a symbol of a lifestyle — one where parents never have to choose between personal style and the intimacy of baby-wearing. We continue to strip away the unnecessary, returning to the beauty of a single sheet of fabric.

The Silent Dialogue Continues

From the first days to the growing years, PsLing becomes part of a life, not just a product. We remain dedicated to the craftsmanship that makes every moment of parenting feel like a masterpiece.
Made by hands, refined by time.

PsLing Today

While our physical storefronts have transitioned into the pages of our history, our dedication remains unchanged. Today, we continue our journey from our private atelier, connecting with parents worldwide through our online flagship store. We remain committed to the same “Made by Hands” philosophy that began 25 years ago.
